This painting is a walk down memory lane for me. It is the foot bridge in Jackson Park, Peterborough, Ontario. I visited this lovely little city often as a child and played in this park near the home of my dear aunt, uncle and three "big brother" cousins. Later, I lived with them while at Peterborough Teachers' College and this charming little bridge continued to be a place where memories were made.
As a girl, my artistic creativity was awakened by an art teacher in high school. I learned at a young age to see the world in color, shapes and reflective light and so went on my way for many years as an astute observer of life in those terms. I later fell in love with watercolors and the joy of playing with pigment and water. As I travel, I'm inspired by "moments" of beauty that create a lasting vision needing to be captured not just by the eye but by the soul.
