The Poinsettia is such a gorgeous statement that arrives from the greenhouses to homes during the Christmas holidays. The colors may vary from white, pink to deep rich reds and can be a tiny addition to a table or in giant pots that fill huge spaces. I like to have one each December and found myself sitting with my sketch book and a coffee before I knew what was happening!!
As a girl, my artistic creativity was awakened by an art teacher in high school. I learned at a young age to see the world in color, shapes and reflective light and so went on my way for many years as an astute observer of life in those terms. I later fell in love with watercolors and the joy of playing with pigment and water. As I travel, I'm inspired by "moments" of beauty that create a lasting vision needing to be captured not just by the eye but by the soul.
